The Feed-In Tariff (FIT) Program allows local renewable energy projects to sell power to the Company at a negotiated price under a long-term contract. The FIT Program is designed to allow installation of customer-owned generation facilities beyond what is allowed in the Company’s Net Metering program. A customer participating in the FIT Program will execute a Power Sales Agreement, which requires the Company to purchase and the customer to sell all the electricity delivered from the customer’s generation facility for an extended period, usually 10-20 years. The Company will pay for that electricity on a $/kWh basis. The Customer’s sale of energy under the FIT Program does not change the customer’s electric bill or the company’s delivery of electricity to the Customer; instead, the Company pays the customer for the energy per the terms of the Power Sales Agreement.
